Former rector himself stood before the court

Almost all of the allegations involve the construction of the Academic Medical Center – ponadtysiącłóżkowego hospital, which was formed at the border of Zabrze and Gliwice. All of these reported by the newspaper “the matter became the subject of an investigation initiated four years ago by the District Prosecutor’s Office in Katowice. Finished it last year indicted the three acts. Prof. Tadeusz W. has been accused of exceeding the powers and Mismanagement. According to prosecutors exposed to the academy, including the loss of 47 million €. In turn, Adam S. and B. Stefania cause losses were respectively 2.8 million and 2.3 million €. The university, which has changed its name to Medical University of Silesia, now in the present as a subsidiary prosecutor.
None of the three defendants pleaded not guilty. Their process was to begin yesterday in District Court in Katowice. Once closest collaborators, now before the hearing room waited in silence to turn himself back.
The process, however, have not started. Lawyer of former rector, Mariusz Orliński mec, has filed an application for termination of the proceedings. – The reasons are two: the lack of grounds for indictment, and the lack of elements of the offense – explained to journalists.
